A trial date is reportedly set for an Austin man accused of abusing his one-year-old son in July 2011.
James John Mentz, 23, has reportedly pleaded not guilty to first-degree assault causing great bodily harm.
A complaint said his son, who was four months old at the time, reportedly suffered abusive head trauma under Mentz's care.
The complaint goes on to say the child has reportedly had increasing seizure activity since then, and is currently sedated on a ventilator.
Mentz reportedly claimed in the complaint a fall caused his son's injuries.
His trial is set for August 27 in Mower County District Court.
