In Illinois, 40 Year Sentence for Illinois man | Shaken Baby Syndrome

An Edwardsville Illinois man has reportedly been sentenced to 40 years in prison, for reportedly abusing his daughter, whom initially survived and died year later due to the injuries sustained due to Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Torrance Rogers of Edwardsville had reportedly pleaded guilty in 1999 to shaking his infant daughter, Taylor Pinkas. Little Taylor suffered severe brain damage, and numerous medical issues, but survived another 10 years before dying of pneumonia in 2009.

Following the death of his daughter Taylor Pinkas, Torrance Rogers was reportedly charged with first degree murder.  Having served 7 1/2 years of a 15 year sentence for aggravated battery of a child, he is now reportedly facing 40 years, which could have been up to 60 years in prison.
